In the mid 1970’s Ken Styer opened Kenneth R. Styer Real Estate in the heart of Bucktown, PA where he operated for over 35 years until he announced its closing in 2010. Ken’s daughter, Meredith Styer Jacks, joined Ken’s business at the tail end of 2010, lovingly coaxed him out of his intended retirement, and partnered up with him at a couple other local brokerages. In 2017 Meredith set out to reopen a boutique brokerage in the town where it all began, and Styer Real Estate was reborn and reimagined.
Styer Real Estate is a family-run independently owned and operated company whose local professionals make it their primary goal to serve clients with excellence, professionalism, honesty and unfailing attention to detail. We strive to set the bar for hospitality in the industry by anticipating, understanding and responding to our clients’ needs with urgency, preparedness, and a desire to impress at every given opportunity. We take great pride in contributing to the communities we serve, and intend to do our best to improve the lives of the people we come in contact with.
We have worked to cultivate a small and professional team made up of realtors who live where they work. We are invested here. Unlike a larger company, our boutique firm has something to prove and doesn’t have a large brand name to use as a source of our worth, so we rely solely on our own reputation built by our hard work and dedication. Our office is our broker’s last name, and that means something.

- Styer Real Estate offers the same Multiple Listing Service (MLS) representation as larger companies. We have the same access level to the same properties, whether representing the buyer or seller.
- Styer Real Estate offers the same online marketing exposure as larger companies. Your property will be represented on major home buying and selling sites like REALTOR.com, Homes.com, Zillow, Trulia, and many others.
- Much of the technology that REALTORS® provide their clients are provided through the MLS system or the local REALTORS® association. This technology is available to both large companies and boutique firms like Styer Real Estate.
- We offer high-quality marketing products, just like a larger firm. At Styer Real Estate, we have an on-staff graphic designer and professional marketing materials that are more personalized and tailored to our clients’ properties.

Your Transaction is always with your agent: With a focus on customer satisfaction, your agent will not give your contract to a closing coordinator or pass your file to the next person in line. Closing coordinators are typically used by larger companies so an agent can be free to begin work with their next client. Instead of focusing on the number of homes we sell, we are focused on serving the clients we have at the highest level and seeing your transaction through from the beginning to the end. Nothing will be lost in the shuffle, so you can be assured that you are well represented throughout the entire process.
Office Support: By choosing our boutique firm, you can feel confident that the entire office is dedicated to your best interests. We have a full-time administrative assistant, an office manager, and a broker/owner on-site to make sure the agents have the resources they need to properly serve and protect our clients. While many large franchises have hundreds of agents and one broker to service them all, Styer Real Estate agents get daily one-on-one support from an active, local broker.
